چکیده

The aim of the study was to evaluate morphological features nNOS-positive (nNOS-IR) neurons in dorsolateral cortex frontal lobe cerebral hemispheres albino rats during 180 days postnatal development. Material and methods . performed on 40 outbred white Wistar different ages, from 1 days. object an area right hemisphere surface near pole (neocortex). On paraffin serial sections lobe, immunohistochemical reaction with antibodies nNOS a detection system horseradish peroxidase. Neuronal morphometry by microphotographs using ImageJ-Fiji (NIH) 1.51h program, measuring sectional neuron body, nucleus, nuclear-cytoplasmic ratio, intensity reaction. significance differences assessed paired Student's t-test. Results It found that mature nNOS-IR detected large multi-polar cells high activity enzyme located supragranular layers, spindle-shaped long positive processes at border matter (type 1), two varieties low-positive – accumulations VI layer single ones other layers 2). Polymorphism manifests birth, but it possible distinguish all subpopulations only 21st day. Each subpopulation is distinguished its own age dynamics studied parameters nature distribution positivity. In addition, 3–7 day old rat pups, numerous small have transient immunoreactivity. Conclusion Thus, division into types proposed works predecessors does not correspond number could be described region prefrontal rats. This diversity consistent functions for nitric oxide. For objective characterization various classes cortical interneurons, necessary use additional data obtained transcriptomic, histological, electrophysiological, functional experiments, taking account species, topographic, features. Only extended approach will make selectively influence reasonably interpret results experimental studies.

Synaptic connections of calretinin-immunoreactive neurons in the human neocortex.

Previous immunocytochemical studies in the cerebral cortex of various species have shown that the calcium-binding protein calretinin (CR) labels specific subpopulations of nonspiny nonpyramidal cells (interneurons). The present study attempts to characterize morphologically and chemically the microcircuitry of CR-immunoreactive (CR-ir) neurons in the human temporal neocortex. Postembedding immu...

Ultrastructural features of immunoreactive somatostatin neurons in the rat caudate nucleus.

Previous immunocytochemical studies have localized immunoreactive (i) somatostatin (SS) to cell bodies and fibers in the rat neostriatum. In order to identify the population of neostriatal neurons that contain iSS, we used the immunoperoxidase technique to study the localization of iSS at both the light and electron microscopic levels. Light microscopic results showed that iSS was present withi...

Morphology, distribution, and synaptic relations of somatostatin- and neuropeptide Y-immunoreactive neurons in rat and monkey neocortex.

Neurons in the monkey and rat cerebral cortex immunoreactive for somatostatin tetradecapeptide (SRIF) and for neuropeptide Y (NPY) were examined in the light and electron microscope. Neurons immunoreactive for either peptide are found in all areas of monkey cortex examined as well as throughout the rat cerebral cortex and in the subcortical white matter of both species. In monkey and rat cortex...

Sex Differences of Parvalbumin-immunoreactive Neurons in the Rat Brain

• During the last two decades numerous studies have proven the existence of sexual dimorphism in the brain of lower vertebrates, birds, and mammals. Differences between males and females have been found in various components of central nervous system (CNS), including volumes of certain nuclei, numbers of neurons and synaptic contacts, size of somata and outgrowths, as well as differences in neu...

Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide-immunoreactive neurons in rat visual cortex.

An antibody to vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) was used to examine the forms of VIP-positive neurons and the synapses made by VIP-positive axon terminals. Vasoactive intestinal polypeptide-positive cells are most common in layers II and III and the majority of them are typical bipolar neurons, with two primary dendrites which emanate from the upper and lower poles of the cell body. Thei...
